TORONTO, April 9, 2013 /CNW/ - Rogers Communications, Canada's leading diversified communications and media company, today announced it will be the first Canadian carrier to offer the new BlackBerry Q10 smartphone enabled to run on a 2600 MHz LTE spectrum, the fastest wireless internet band available in Canada. The BlackBerry Q10 will be available in both black and white, and Rogers customers will have access first to the white colour model.

Powered by the Rogers LTE network, Canada's fastest wireless internet, the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone will enable Canadians to do more with their device such as watch live sports in HD, download large files quickly and stream music at faster speeds. The smartphone's physical QWERTY keyboard and touch screen with the power of the BlackBerry 10 platform will help customers communicate and collaborate faster and more efficiently.

"Being a Rogers customer means you have access first to what's next in mobile technology. We're excited to be the first to offer Canadians a choice of the black or limited-time exclusive white BlackBerry Q10, enabled to run on our blazing fast 2600 MHz LTE spectrum," said John Boynton, executive vice president of marketing and chief marketing officer, Rogers Communications. "As we invest in innovative 2600 MHz-enabled devices, Rogers customers will continue to enjoy an enhanced, superior wireless experience versus any other carrier."
Rogers announced earlier this month it will expand its LTE 2600 network to 44 new markets this spring. Among these new markets are Saint John,New Brunswick; Medicine Hat, Alberta; Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; Muskoka, Ontario and Collingwood, Ontario. Rogers has deployed more 2600 MHz spectrum than any other Canadian carrier.

Offering a powerful and unique new mobile computing experience, the re-designed, re-engineered and re-invented BlackBerry10 platform offers customers a faster and smarter experience that continuously adapts to their needs.
The BlackBerry Q10 is designed to keep customers moving and includes advancements such as:
•The ever-present BlackBerry Hub, which brings all your conversations together in one easy to manage place that you can access at any time from any app with a simple "peek," so you're always only one swipe away from what matters to you.
•BlackBerry Balance technology, which elegantly separates and secures work applications and data from personal content and lets you instantly switch between your personal and professional profile for easy access to work apps and data.
•BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), which lets you harness the power of collaboration and exchange ideas in an instant. BBM in BlackBerry 10 includes voice calling and video chat, and lets you share your screen with another BlackBerry 10 contact.
•BlackBerry Remember, which helps you tackle tasks quickly with a new way to collect, organize and action all the information sitting in different places across your smartphone.

Mar 26, 2013 - Rogers to expand LTE, Canada's fastest wireless internet to 44 more markets

LTE network expansion to give over a million Canadians in Atlantic Canada, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec access to Rogers blazing fast 2600 MHz spectrum

TORONTO, March 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Rogers Communications, Canada's leading diversified communications company, announced it will bring its LTE network, Canada's fastest wireless internet, to more Canadians across the country. Rogers will introduce LTE in 44 markets this spring and intends to reach a total of 95 markets in 2013, offering more wireless customers access to the world's fastest wireless network technology from coast to coast.

Rogers will also be making its blazing fast 2600 MHz LTE spectrum band available in all markets, and 34 of the 44 new LTE markets will be capable of maximum theoretical network speeds of up to 150 Mbps. This means Rogers LTE customers using a 2600-enabled device can do even more and have access to the fastest speeds available. Rogers has more LTE network deployed in the 2600 MHz spectrum band than any other carrier in Canada.

"We're thrilled to offer the country's fastest wireless internet to more Canadians over the coming months," said John Boynton, Rogers Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. "Today, Canadians are more connected than ever and are using their wireless devices in a number of ways - for live streaming HD programming, downloading large files, streaming YouTube clips and music, or enjoying the latest game from their app store of choice," added Boynton. "The power of the network is critical to enabling these digital experiences, and with Rogers LTE, Canadians are getting more use out of their devices, at the fastest speeds available."

Among the 44 LTE markets launching this spring will be Saint John, New Brunswick; Medicine Hat, Alberta; Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; Guelph, Ontario; Muskoka, Ontario; Collingwood, Ontario; and multiple cities in Quebec.

Rogers continues to offer the largest selection of LTE devices of any carrier in Canada and will announce more 2600-enabled smartphones in the coming months. Current Rogers exclusive, 2600-enabled devices include the LG Optimus G 2600, the Rocket Stick, Rocket Hub and the Rocket Mobile Hotspot.

"It is our commitment to offer customers the fastest wireless internet experience in Canada," added Boynton. "As we continue to invest in innovative and exclusive 2600-enabled devices, as well as the rollout of Canada's fastest LTE network and our 2600 spectrum, more Rogers customers will enjoy an enhanced, superior wireless experience."

In the coming months we will be rolling out the 44 markets and growing our lineup of LTE and 2600 enabled devices. For updates on our growing LTE network, visit www.rogers.com/LTE

Is Blackberry Back?

Pictured here is Nadir Mohamed, President and CEO, Rogers, and Thorsten Heins, President and CEO, BlackBerry, selling one of the first BlackBerry Z10 smartphones in North America at the Rogers flagship store in Toronto, to Mr. Harp Dhonsi on February 5th, 2013 launch day.

Is Blackberry Back?
So far so good….. Early reviews are good. Early sales numbers are good. Early customer reaction is good.

I was not able to meet the demand on launch date & now have some of my best customers on a waiting list.
Feb 6, 2013 Thorsten Heins “In Canada, yesterday was the best day ever for the first day of a launch of a new BlackBerry smartphone. In fact, it was more than 50% better than any other launch day in our history in Canada,” said the the President & CEO of BlackBerry. “In the UK, we have seen close to three times our best performance ever for the first week of sales for a BlackBerry smartphone.”

The popular Blackberry user site creackberry.com is reporting ‘BlackBerry let us know earlier today that yesterday, February 5th, was a record-setting sales day in BlackBerry history with the launch of the BlackBerry Z10 in Canada. Now Canadian carrier Rogers has followed up with their own statement letting us know that it was also a record-setting BlackBerry day for Rogers as well.
Via Rogers:
•Sold more BlackBerry smartphones on February 5th 2013 than any other day in Rogers history (Rogers was the first carrier to launch BlackBerry services in 1999).
•Rogers BlackBerry experts activated thousands of BlackBerry Z10 smartphones yesterday, and provided customers with in depth training and support.’

When you get your Blackberry Z10 you need to check out this site..
These short instructional videos will answer most if not all of your setup questions.
